When I was about 20 years old, a group of friends invited me to church. I didn’t grow up planning to be religious, and I had no intention of making any big spiritual decisions—but that night, something happened.

As the service was ending, the pastor’s wife invited anyone who wanted to give their life to Jesus to come forward. I wasn’t planning to move, but somehow… I found myself walking down the aisle.

I prayed with her, asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins, and committed to follow Him.

That was over 25 years ago. My life has never been the same.
Getting started
Start with the basics
After I got saved, a man from the church offered to mentor me. He said, “Let’s start with the basics.”

That’s what I want to offer you here—not a full theology course, not a spiritual checklist, just a starting point.

He told me to:
-
Read your Bible
-
Pray
-
Go to church

Simple words. But at the time, I had no idea how to do any of them.
If that’s where you’re at too—you’re not alone.
This page is here to help you get started.
The 3 basics of following Jesus

2. [Prayer 101 →]
Talking to God—what to say, how to listen, and why it matters

3. [Find a Church →]
How to find a church family that teaches the Bible and helps you grow
Bonus tip find a mentor
If you can find someone trustworthy who’s been walking with Jesus a while, ask them to walk with you, pray with you, and help you grow. But if you don’t have that right now, let this be your starting point.
